Educational Talent Search Program Components

Initiative Component

The Initiative Component is designed to motivate and encourage middle and junior high school participants to excel at a maximum academic level to ensure proper readiness for secondary school. Participants have the option of attending workshops related to academic preparation, mentoring, parental support, college planning, leadership development, community service, etc. Initiative participants automatically transition to the next level (High School Component) participation in ETS and are encouraged to enroll in the 21st Century Scholars Program. Learn more about the Initiative Component.

High School Component

The High School component consists of providing encouragement and motivation to participants who want to learn more about seeking a college education after high school. ETS dedicated staff of professionals recognizes and is proactive to understanding the distinct needs of first/generation and low income families as it relates to matriculation to college. Participants are exposed to an array of activities and services designed to minimize barriers to postsecondary attainment. Learn more about the High School Component.

Adult Services Component

The goal of the Adult Services component is to motivate the out-of-school or non-traditional student to enter or re-enter a secondary and/or postsecondary institution. Educational Talent Search serves as a liaison between the adult learner and GED programs. Additional individualized counseling is provided for college admissions and financial aid procedures.
