Can I test out of any course requirements?

Option for Testing Out (Content)
Some potential candidates have completed minors in relevant content areas.  When a potential candidate meets with the advisor, she provides suggested course work missing from the candidate's transcript that is required of undergraduate candidates in teaching majors.  However, since successful completion of the Praxis II exam provides documentation of   knowledge appropriate for the teaching content, any potential candidate for the T2T program at Purdue University Calumet may use the Praxis II content exam to waive content course work suggested by the advisor.

Option for Course Release (Pedagogy)

Occasionally, a candidate has teaching experience in a K-12 setting.  Any required education course can be waived through demonstration of prior pedagogical knowledge.  To demonstrate this knowledge, candidates may complete the assigned assessments in the TaskStream Portfolio for any course.  Demonstration of “Competent” (a score of 2) on those assessments would qualify as meeting the standards for that course.  Consequently, that course requirement would be waived.
