Initial Teacher Preparation Sequence
Gate 1: All Elementary and Secondary Students
- EDPS 22000 Psychology of Learning
- EDFA 20000 OR EDPS 49100 History and Philosophy of Education
- EDPS 26000 Introduction to Special Education
- Passing scores for Praxis I (PPST), 3.0 GPA, and average TaskStream portfolio score of 1.5
Gate 2: Secondary Candidates
- EDCI 35500 Teaching and Learning in the K-12 Classroom
- EDCI 36600 Use of Assessment in the K-12 Classroom
- Sucessful completion of portfolio and other admission criteria
Gate 3: Secondary Methods
- EDPS 37000 Special Education methods (spring or summer only)
- EDCI 49000 Education Technology for Teaching and Learning
- EDCI 34X00 Content area methods (Fall only)
- Praxis II exams and professional semester requirements
Final Gate: EDCI 497XX - Professional Semester (student teaching) and licensure
