Gloria Vélez-Rendón, (PhD, Purdue University, West Lafayette, 2000) is Associate Professor of Spanish and Education. She holds a joint appointment with the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures. Gloria joined Purdue University Calumet in August 2000. Her research interests include second language teacher education, Hispanic immigration and sociolinguistics. Gloria teaches the foreign language methods course at PUC and supervises foreign language student teachers as well. She also teaches Spanish language courses. She volunteers for
