Emily Hixon, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology in the Department of Teacher reparation at Purdue University Calumet. Her degrees are from Indiana University Bloomington in Instructional Systems Technology (M.S. and Ph.D.) and Educational Psychology (M.S). Within the Department of Teacher Preparation, she teaches EDPS 220 - Psychology of Learning and EDCI 260 - Introduction to Computers in Education. Prior to joining the faculty at Purdue Calumet in 2006, Dr. Hixon spent 5 years working in the field of faculty development and enhancement as an instructional designer at university teaching and learning centers. Her research interests involve effective technology integration and professional development and enhancement at both the K-12 and higher education levels. She has also been involved in many distance learning initiatives and is interested in pursuing research in that area as well. |
