Nancy Davis, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of education and assessment coordinator for the School of Education at Purdue University Calumet. She spent over 30 years in public education teaching at levels from second grade through twelfth grade. Dr. Davis has also spent eleven years serving as adjunct faculty and four years as assistant professor at the university level. Her more recent focus has been on data collection and analysis for academic improvement. Dr. Davis earned a Master's Degree in Counselor Education from Long Island University and advanced standing credits from Purdue University Calumet in English Education and Counseling Education. She earned her doctorate in Interdisciplinary Studies concentrating on Counseling and Writing at The Union Institute and University. Her current licensure includes English Education and Counseling Education in Indiana. Additionally, Dr. Davis is a mental health counselor licensed in Indiana where she volunteers through Red Cross, Hospice, and Elder Care. Her interdisciplinary studies have given her opportunities to intertwine counseling, education, and writing. Dr. Davis' research includes refereed presentations and articles that focus on scaffolding prompts for counselors and transformative education in the university classroom. Her current research interests are related to accountability and change. |
