Information and Analysis
Information and Analysis System
Purpose Statement: The purpose of Administrative Services Information and Analysis
System is to ensure a consistent method for selecting, using, analyzing, and deploying
information and data so that continuous organizational improvements are realized.
Description: The Administrative Services Information and Analysis System is a series of
sequential steps that ensures we have good data and are measuring the right things. The
system begins with the goals of the organization. Quantitative and qualitative measures
should be identified to ensure we meet our goals. We also should be sure we have a
balanced set of measures by confirming that customer, financial and market, human
resource, supplier and partner, and organizational effectiveness are among our list of
measures. At the same time, we need to establish targets for those measures – it’s not
good enough to say what we are going to measure, we also need to establish the target
measurement we are shooting for. Accurate and complete data is collected and stored in a
“data warehouse” that divisions and work units can access to ensure they receive just in
time, reliable information. The data is analyzed, compared against targeted measures and
displayed for staff to view. The measurements are communicated to stakeholders and
adjustments are made to ensure realization of the measurement target.
