BIOLOGY is the study of LIFE in both its elegant simplicity and its intriguing complexity and BIOLOGISTS are now poised on the cusp of the 21st century to contribute to the betterment of mankind in previously unimagined ways.  Therefore, it has never been a better time to be a BIOLOGIST and the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University Calumet actively seeks to serve the citizens and communities of northwest Indiana by

    • training the newest generation of Biologists and Biotechnologists, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to fill the ever increasing needs of industry and academia in our region and nationwide.

    • providing the best, most personalized, preparation for pre-professional students in dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, optometry, veterinary medicine, emergency medical services/paramedicine, forestry, etc.

    • working hand-in-hand with our School of Education to train science and biology teachers of the highest quality, who are needed in ever increasing numbers throughout our nation.

    • contributing to nationally recognized “cutting edge” research at both the organisimal and molecular levels of the life sciences in biomedicine, biotechnology, microbiology, ecology, and environmental sciences.

As I said, it’s never been a better time to be a BIOLOGIST than now and no better place to start on the road to your professional goals than at Purdue University Calumet.

Our faculty, staff, and I look forward to helping you on your journey,
